ARTISTS BEWARE: AimlessWebcomic

I’ll say now that the purpose of this post isn’t to harass or bully, but to spread awareness of a situation.

I became aware of AimlessWebcomic yesterday afternoon while doing my usual trawl of the dA forums for commissions. He states he’s looking for alien races for a webcomic in the works, and claims to have a budget of $700,000. However, according to those who have already worked with him, this is not the case. His actual budget appears to be a whopping $0. He’ll block anyone even inquiring about his credibility, and anyone attempting to warn others about him will immediately be blocked and called an “old enemy” and “internet troll”. He seems to start an entirely new thread every time he’s called out to keep himself from looking too suspicious as well. As I told him in a comment from a backup account I made, I’d be more than willing to acknowledge a mistake if he only gave me proof he wasn’t scamming artists… but he seems more than content looking as shady as humanly possible.

Try to spread this info around where you can, since he seems to be on more sites than just dA. I searched his username and found him on a comic forum attempting to scam artists there (albeit in 2014), and other dA users seem to have found him doing the same on facebook, though I can’t seem to find him there.

Update: According to HaruShadows on dA, this guy has in fact been attempting to scam artists since 2014, hopping accounts when necessary. His own mother has called him out on facebook as well, and has been trying to pay some of the artists that have already been scammed in the past.

This is a person who clearly doesn’t understand what anything is. He doesn’t pay upfront, because he’s obviously doesn’t even have the money.

I should know. I wanted to be supportive, but he was far too ignorant. I was lucky to talk to his mother.

Yes, we’ve all been tricked by him. Even me. He keeps changing concepts left and right. Yes, it’s part of the process, but this is getting ridiculous. There had been a mass exodus late last year.

You know how Black Lives Matter wants you to “say people’s names”? Well, say his name, Isaac Aubrey Law. He must be stopped.

By the way, I took that concept that I liked that he helped made, and made it part of my own storyworld. Yes, that includes the Star Dragon Dynasty. TAKE. THAT.
